Project Description
Located in Oshawa, ON, this project comprised a new state-of-the-art head office for General Motors Canada. Approximately 350,000 sq. ft. in size, this multi-storey office building contains three wings and an atrium, and features Canada’s first operating thermal ice storage system.
Notably, this ice storage low-temperature air system makes 3,500 tonnes of ice during off hours. Further, the facility distributes 420°F air to the conditioned spaces where it is mixed to 540°F before entering the occupied space, which increases the efficiency of the ductwork air systems and pumping systems.
MCW provided mechanical and electrical engineering services for this project, which met all of the Owner’s expectations.
