Duck Lake 25kV Distribution Project
Project Description
The project objective was the design of a duct bank in an urban area of the BC interior, and 25kV circuiting to re-service existing distribution from a new geographic location. The new concrete encased duct bank accommodates up to 12 feeders traversing the facilities of stakeholders which include railways, highways, municipal roads and utilities, third party electrical utilities, waterways, first nations land and lands under private ownership. Work also included coordination with an external utility to design egress from the new Duck Lake substation. The design met all applicable client and industry standards.
MCW deliverables included full electrical and civil design services, environmental evaluations, project management, permitting, and construction management. Other related design work included voltage conversion for a large suburban community from 12kV to 25kV.
