Project Description

30,000 square foot single storey production facility that includes the following areas:

Office Area:

• Open Concept Office
• IT Server Room
• Meeting Rooms
• Coffee Room and Kitchen

Manufacturing Area:

• Boat Assembly and Shop
• Injection Mold Testing

Storage Area:

• Boat Storage
• Fibreglass Repair

The facility was originally designed for the production of Husky Air Boats and administration of the business.

Energy Efficiency:

The building's HVAC system uses a ground source heat pump, with heating and cooling provided to the office space and tempered air provided to the manufacturing space / warehouse space.

Fresh air for the entire facility is provided through an earth tube running the maximum practical length available on the site. This earth tube enables significant pre-heat and pre-cool of fresh air, reducing load on mechanical air handling.

In addition to the clean energy HVAC soltuions, energy is also recovered from exhaust air using an energy recovery exchanger ducted in parallel with the incoming dedicated fresh air systems.
