Project Description

After a fire destroyed their Interpretive Centre in 2007, the Town of Stonewall came up with a description of the functions and features for the new building, quadrupling the size. Main floor has offices, meeting rooms and an interpretive centre teaching visitors about the rock quarry site. Second floor has meeting room space, banquet and performing arts space with a stage and theatre seating for 225 people.

LEED certified, 8,966 ft2 facility with energy efficient lighting, natural lighting, low flow toilets, and an eco-friendly heating and ventilation system. Materials from the old Interpretive Centre were crushed and used for the foundation of the Heritage Arts Centre.

Completed in 2011.
