Link Building
Project Description
The biggest design challenge was coordinating services between the buildings, which were built at different times and therefore to different building code requirements.
Highly sophisticated electrical and communication systems were installed and integrated with the demanding interior requirements of the facility. These systems included designs for security systems, general alarms, fire alarms, power, lighting and life safety layouts, and a communication wireway infrastructure incorporating fibre and copper cabling. New carousel lighting was installed for a VANOC help desk and lounge area on Level 2, and a new trunk radio room on Level 6 was developed. Design modifications were made to the existing power, data and fire alarm systems to suit the new areas. In addition, modifications to the 5 kV feeders were made as an interim measure while awaiting connection of a new 25 kV substation.
