Project Description
Constructed on a 30-acre parcel on the University of Calgary West Campus, the Alberta Children's Hospital is Calgary's Pediatric Acute Care Facility. The project total is 60,000 m2 in area. Hemisphere was involved with the design and working drawing preparation for the Ambulatory Care Block and the Center Core Areas. The Ambulatory Care Block includes the department of physiotherapy, physiotherapy swimming pool, departments of cardiology, dental, neural sciences, orthotics, audiology and opthamology, the infusion clinic, and educational spaces such as meeting rooms and lecture theatres. The Center Core is comprised of a feature entry, food services, materials management, morgue/autopsy, central medical gas plant and a CSL laboratory.
