University of Alberta Hosptial, Endoscopy Suite Renovation

Project Description

The 1200m² area on the second level of the Walter C. Mackenzie Health Sciences Center (WMC). Total renovation of an existing area, and included the creation of 10 new state of the art procedure rooms which includes 7 Endoscopy Rooms, 2 Bronchoscopy Rooms, and 1 ERCP Fluoroscopy Room. Space also includes decontamination and sterilization rooms and equipment for the scope equipment used during the procedures, 28 cubicles for either patients in preparation for procedures or recovery, and additional space for staff and support services.

Mechanical and electrical systems for the new Endoscopy suite were connected to existing building systems and services within the interstitial space including new HEPA filters with booster fans so as to not affect existing building exhaust systems that service several floor other than the new Endoscopy suite.
