Project Description
Two new building extensions and the renovation of areas within the existing main building of Mohawk College Stoney Creek Campus in Hamilton. The gross area of the new extensions is approximately 40,100 sq. ft (West Wing – 20,250 sq. ft, East Wing – 19,850 sq. ft). The gross area of the renovations is approximately 13,000 sq. ft. Allowance was made for a future additional single storey construction above the East Wing extensions.
The mechanical scope of work included the design of a complete HVAC system for the new additions and the replacement of the existing controls system with a new building management system. A total of 2 new boiler plants have been added together with hot water radiation and in-slab heating systems. A new sprinkler system has also been added to the new addition.
Through its sister company MCW Custom Energy Solutions, MCW commenced work on an Energy Performance Contract to renovate and upgrade the mechanical and electrical infrastructure throughout the College Campus.
