Project Description
New 2x40MVA Greenfield Substation, part of an overall voltage conversion and capacity upgrade in the Kettle Valley region of the West Kootenays of BC. The station was design to 230kV and included two (2) 40MVA 161/230kV : 25kV banks, four (4) feeders with provision for two (2) future. The work included provision of conceptual design including General Arrangement, Single Line Operational and Protection drawings, budget and scope for BCUC approval. Upon approval, MCW provided a turnkey design for the station, transmission line segmentation, issue of construction package, construction support and project close out. MCW also designed the distribution lines and voltage conversion for the valley.
