Project Description

This project was completed in two parts - the first was a new Field House and the second was the Commonwealth Community Recreation Facility. Part one consisted of a Field House that is used for various indoor sports and by the Edmonton Eskimos. It also included a retrofit of existing wellness spaces to provide consolidated operations for the Edmonton Eskimos. The second part of this project included a relocated wellness space and new recreational facility located at the south end of Commonwealth Stadium. This multi-use recreation facility included a new two-level lobby area which incorporates community rooms, fitness areas and a swimming pool. The lobby area now connects the relocated wellness space and recreational facilities while also accommodating the Edmonton Eskimo administration offices and locker room. MCW Hemisphere provided the full mechanical and electrical engineering design services for this facility.
