Newmarket High School and Theatre

Project Description

This project replaced an existing outdated high school and provided a new community theatre. The community theatre, situated on the new site, minimizes the impact to adjoining conservation areas while maximizing the exposure to the local residential neighbourhood. Location of the theatre also allows interconnection for use, circulation and program sharing.  Academic programs can be delivered with the theatre as an alternate classroom for music and theatre arts programs. The combined theatre and school becomes the focus for a tightly knit community resource to be used at all times.
