Job Description: Energy Engineer
Customs Energy Solutions Ltd., a division of The MCW Group of Companies, is one of the largest Energy Services Companies in Canada. MCW employs approximately 300 professionals through its offices in Toronto, Ottawa, Winnipeg, Vancouver, Trail, Kelowna, Moncton and Saint John.
Description Energy Engineer for a variety of multi-year energy management projects in Vancouver BC. This position involves the undertaking of energy studies and the engineering leading to implementation of energy measures.
Responsibilities The Energy Engineer will be working with institutional and commercial clients and will be responsible for: • Conducting energy analysis • Field auditing of facilities • Development of energy conservation measures, specifically mechanical and building control related measures • Development of sustainable design concepts and renewable energy programs for energy management projects • Supervising development of computer simulation models • Writing of specifications and sequences of operations • Commissioning of installed systems • Supporting internal monitoring and verification initiatives • Sustaining relationships with building performance and utility program sponsors • Working with the Project Manager and Construction Manager in support of project implementation • Field reviews of installed systems
Qualifications, Experience and Education • A Degree in Mechanical Engineering and accreditation as a Professional Engineer is preferred • Ideally 7+ years relevant industry experience • Experience working in a fast paced engineering firm • Familiarity with Microsoft Office tools including Excel, Word, Project and PowerPoint • Experience working with customers and client base • Experience working in a team based environment • A Degree in Mechanical Engineering and accreditation as a Professional Engineer is preferred • Experience leading and directing other technical staff members
