Job Description: The MCW Group of Companies provides fully integrated mechanical, electrical and energy consulting engineering services with more than 40 years of consulting experience. MCW employs approximately 300 professionals through its offices in Toronto, Ottawa, Winnipeg, Vancouver, Trail, Kelowna, Moncton and Saint John.
We currently have an opening for a Mechanical Designer/Engineer.
Responsibilities:
• Design of mechanical HVAC, Plumbing and Fire Protection systems for commercial, industrial, public and private facilities • Create concepts and develop detailed designs for both large and small scale projects locally, nationally and internationally • Review and understand drawings, calculations and other documentation • Prepare drawings, schematics, reports and proposals as required • Understand mechanical engineering design concepts and read and understand pertinent codes and standards • Work with project team and Project Manager to ensure on-time project completion • Providing technical and administrative support through all phases of the project • Striving to ensure quality and timely delivery of finished products to clients
Qualifications, Experience and Education:
• Post-secondary education in mechanical design • Experience working in a fast paced engineering firm • Minimum of 5 years relevant working experience • Familiarity with AutoCAD • Familiarity with Microsoft Office tools including Excel, Word, Project and PowerPoint • Experience working with customers and client base • Experience working in a team based environment

• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal • Ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously • Proven ability to meet deadlines/successful completion of deliverables • Excellent time management skills • Ability to work under pressure • Analytical, thorough, resourceful and detail-oriented • Team and customer service-focused • Self-motivated, hardworking, flexible
