Mechanical Technologist

Responsibilities

The responsibilities include assisting the engineering staff in the Mechanical HVAC, Plumbing and Fire protection systems for commercial, industrial and other public and private facilities. The technologist will help create concepts, assist in the development of detailed designs and help select equipment for both large and small scale projects. Other duties are as follows:

- Review and understanding of drawings, calculations and other documentation.

- Assist the engineering team in providing cost effective solutions to technical problems.

- Assist the engineering staff in the preparation of reports and proposals as required.

- Preparation of drawings and schematics.

- Work in a team to ensure successful completion of project deliverables in a timely fashion.

- Understanding of clients’ requirements and expectations.

Qualifications, Experience and Education

- Mechanical Engineering Technologists diploma or similar.

- 5+ years relevant working experience. 

- Understanding of mechanical engineering design concepts.

- Ability to read and understand pertinent codes and standards.

- Familiarity with AutoCAD.

- Familiarity with Microsoft Office tools including Excel, Word, Project and PowerPoint.

- Experience working with customers and client base.

- Experience working in a team based environment.
